Answer Engine Optimization Agencies in 2026: 10 Providers to Evaluate
Answer Engine Optimization Agencies in 2026: 10 Providers to Evaluate
Updated: 21 August 2026 | By Eugen S.
Disclosure: This article is published by Optis Digital, one of the agencies included in this overview. Optis Digital is presented separately and has not been independently ranked by its own editorial team. The other providers were selected using publicly available information about their services, technical capabilities, content and authority-building work, and AI-search measurement approaches. No agency paid for inclusion. Information was last reviewed on 21 August 2026.
Short answer: there is no universally “best” Answer Engine Optimization agency. The right provider depends on your market, technical environment, content operation, authority gaps, reporting requirements and budget. This guide presents ten providers to evaluate. It is a transparent, non-ranked overview—not a league table.
All descriptions of external providers are based on their public service pages. Those pages contain the providers’ own marketing claims and are not a substitute for reference calls, a proposal review or a paid pilot.
What is an Answer Engine Optimization agency?
An Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) agency helps a brand become easier to discover, understand and cite in AI-assisted search and answer experiences. Depending on the provider, the same work may be called Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), AI Search Optimization, LLM Optimization or AI SEO.
The terminology is still evolving, but the useful work is concrete. It can include crawler and indexation audits, information architecture, content research, original evidence, entity consistency, digital PR, structured data, prompt monitoring, citation analysis and conversion measurement.
AEO does not replace SEO. Google’s current guidance for AI Overviews and AI Mode says established SEO fundamentals remain relevant and that no special AI file or schema is required for inclusion. OpenAI separately documents crawler access for ChatGPT Search. A capable agency should understand both the shared foundations and the platform-specific controls.
How we selected the providers
This overview uses a reproducible inclusion method rather than star ratings or an unexplained “top 10” order.
Inclusion criteria
As of the review date, each external provider had:
a public first-party page describing an AEO, GEO or AI-search service;
a stated approach covering at least two of these areas: technical access, content, authority or measurement;
enough public detail to identify a plausible use case or differentiator;
an active company website and a way to request further information.
What this method does not prove
We did not test every agency through an identical paid engagement.
We did not independently audit all performance figures on provider websites.
Inclusion is not an endorsement, certification or guarantee of results.
The providers are not scored because public information is not standardised enough for a defensible numerical ranking.
Optis Digital appears first because it publishes the article and requires a prominent conflict-of-interest disclosure. The nine external providers then appear alphabetically.

Optis Digital
Optis Digital offers SEO and GEO services that include AI-visibility audits, prompt analysis, technical improvements and content work. Its public positioning may be relevant to SaaS, fintech, crypto, cybersecurity and other specialist digital businesses that want conventional SEO and AI-search visibility handled within one programme.
Potential fit: teams that want direct access to a specialist agency and need a combined technical and editorial roadmap.
Important limitation: Optis Digital publishes this comparison. For that reason, it has not been given a rank, score, badge or “best for” award. Prospective clients should apply the same due-diligence questions to Optis Digital as to every other provider.
Other providers, in alphabetical order
Avenue Z
Avenue Z describes an AI Optimization service spanning strategic content development, technical AI-search improvements and reputable media placements. Its public service page connects on-site content and entity work with earned-media authority, making it a provider to examine when PR is a material part of the visibility problem.
Potential fit: organisations that need digital PR, thought leadership and brand authority alongside technical and content changes.
Verify before hiring: ask for examples from a comparable industry, a clear definition of a citation or mention, and reporting that distinguishes traditional organic results from AI-search outcomes. Avenue Z did not create the academic GEO framework: the research paper titled “GEO: Generative Engine Optimization” was authored by researchers and published in the proceedings of KDD 2024.
Eyeful Media
Eyeful Media presents AI Search Optimization as a parallel discovery channel integrated with SEO and paid search. Its public approach begins with an AI Visibility Audit and covers technical readiness, content structure, entity authority, schema, product-feed integrity and citation or sentiment monitoring.
Potential fit: B2B, B2C and e-commerce organisations that need an audit-led plan and stakeholder coordination, including product or merchant data where relevant.
Verify before hiring: confirm which parts are strategic recommendations and which include implementation. Ask how the agency tests prompts, normalises variation and connects visibility to qualified traffic or revenue.
Intero Digital
Intero Digital describes a GEO programme combining research, SEO, content, digital PR and cross-platform engagement. Its public framework starts with visibility analysis across services such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot, followed by content-ecosystem planning, entity work and off-site authority.
Potential fit: mid-market and enterprise teams that want multiple organic disciplines coordinated by one provider.
Verify before hiring: ask for the exact team structure, implementation responsibilities and a sample report. Proprietary frameworks can organise work, but their value should be demonstrated through transparent methods and business-relevant outcomes.
iPullRank
iPullRank offers Generative Engine Optimization alongside Relevance Engineering, technical SEO, content engineering and AI-search strategy. The agency also publishes a detailed AI Search Manual, which provides a useful view of its technical and retrieval-oriented perspective.
Potential fit: enterprise websites, large content estates and organisations with complex technical SEO or data requirements.
Verify before hiring: define whether the engagement includes only analysis and strategy or also engineering, content production and digital PR. Agree on which AI surfaces will be monitored and how prompt samples, personalisation and answer variability will be reported.
NoGood
NoGood publicly describes a four-pillar AEO service: AI-visibility intelligence, content and owned-media optimisation, earned media and citation building, and technical AEO infrastructure. The agency also states that it uses Goodie, a separate technology partner, for monitoring and performance insights.
Potential fit: growth-stage organisations that want AEO connected to content, social, PR, paid media and broader growth experimentation.
Verify before hiring: clarify which platform features are included, who owns the data and dashboards, and how referral traffic and conversions are attributed. Treat forecast timelines as hypotheses based on the starting point, not commitments from an answer engine.
Omnius
Omnius positions GEO as an additional layer of multichannel SEO rather than a replacement for it. Its public offer focuses on B2B SaaS, fintech and AI companies and includes crawler access, content and site-structure work, schema, prompt-oriented research and competitive analysis.
Potential fit: specialist B2B brands that prefer SEO and AI-search work in one organic-growth programme.
Verify before hiring: ask the agency to connect every recommended tactic to official platform documentation, a controlled experiment or clearly labelled internal evidence. In particular, no single file, schema type or keyword placement should be treated as a universal guarantee of LLM visibility.
Siege Media
Siege Media describes a GEO service centred on original research, bottom-funnel content, digital PR, community presence, affiliate partnerships, content freshness and attribution. Its public offer reflects a content-distribution view of AI visibility: owned pages matter, but so do the third-party sources that answer engines may cite.
Potential fit: established SaaS, fintech, e-commerce, cybersecurity, education or travel brands that can support an ongoing content and authority-building programme.
Verify before hiring: agree on ethical community practices, disclosure, publisher-selection criteria and the resources required from internal subject-matter experts. Review the evidence behind public statistics instead of assuming results will transfer to a different market.
Single Grain
Single Grain offers a broad GEO programme covering AI-question research, content gaps, technical and schema work, digital PR, local or brand presence, conversion optimisation and performance tracking. Its service page says it monitors citations, share of answer, brand mentions and business outcomes.
Potential fit: B2B, SaaS and technology companies seeking a full-funnel combination of content, technical optimisation, distribution and conversion work.
Verify before hiring: request a channel-specific scope and a sample dashboard. Confirm how citations are sampled, how conversions are attributed, and which deliverables are produced by the core team versus partners or contractors.
WebFX
WebFX describes a scaled AI Search Optimization service supported by its OmniSEO visibility platform. Public deliverables include query research, content and authority assets, AI-visibility tracking and reporting across multiple AI-search experiences.
Potential fit: organisations that want an established full-service delivery model, broad platform coverage and a proprietary reporting environment.
Verify before hiring: confirm which platforms are directly measured, the size and refresh rate of the prompt set, the distinction between a mention and a citation, and whether the reporting can be exported. Review current pricing and contract terms in the proposal because public packages can change.
How to choose an AEO agency
1. Start with the business problem
Do not begin with “we need GEO.” Define what is missing. Examples include incorrect brand descriptions, low citation coverage for commercial questions, weak technical access, a lack of original evidence, limited third-party authority or no measurement of AI referrals. The problem determines the capabilities you need.
2. Request a documented baseline
A baseline should include a defined prompt set, platforms, markets, languages, device or location assumptions, date, brand mentions, citations, source domains and relevant conversion data. Without this, improvement claims are difficult to evaluate.
3. Inspect the evidence model
Ask how the agency decides what to publish and why an answer engine would trust it. Strong programmes use primary sources, subject-matter experts, original research, clear editorial controls and reputable third-party references. They should distinguish correlation from causation.
4. Check technical depth
The agency should be able to diagnose robots.txt, crawler access, CDN rules, status codes, canonicalisation, rendering, internal links, structured data and internationalisation. It should also know that platform controls differ. For example, OpenAI documents OAI-SearchBot for ChatGPT Search and GPTBot for potential model training as independent settings.
5. Demand transparent measurement
Useful reporting can include citation rate, share of sampled answers, brand-description accuracy, cited source domains, AI-referred sessions, conversions and influenced pipeline. Every metric needs a definition, data source, sample size and limitation. A dynamic generated answer is not equivalent to a fixed organic ranking.
6. Reject guarantees
No agency controls ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity or other answer systems. Be cautious of guaranteed citations, guaranteed recommendations, a permanent number-one position or a fixed timeline for becoming a “preferred source.” A credible proposal should describe controllable work, assumptions and risk.
Questions to ask before signing
Which answer engines and markets are included?
How is the prompt set created, sampled and refreshed?

Which outcomes are expected, and which are explicitly not guaranteed?
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between AEO and GEO?
AEO is the broader practice of making content suitable for systems that provide direct answers. GEO usually refers more specifically to visibility and representation in generative answers. In commercial practice, the terms often overlap, so evaluate deliverables rather than labels.
Did an agency create the GEO concept?
The best-known formal research framework was introduced in “GEO: Generative Engine Optimization,” authored by Pranjal Aggarwal and other researchers and published in the proceedings of KDD 2024. Agencies may create their own service frameworks, but they should not be credited as the originators of that academic work without evidence.
Does AEO replace traditional SEO?
No. Crawlability, indexation, clear information architecture, useful content and authority remain foundational. AI-search work adds platform access controls, answer-oriented research, entity consistency, citation analysis and new measurement challenges.
How long does AEO take?
There is no universal timeline. A technical block can sometimes be corrected quickly, while content coverage, third-party authority and commercial impact usually require an ongoing programme. Ask for milestones tied to deliverables and leading indicators, not a guaranteed date for model recommendations.
How should AEO success be measured?
Use a combination of sampled visibility metrics and business outcomes: citation coverage, brand-description accuracy, source diversity, AI-referred sessions, qualified leads, conversions and influenced pipeline. Record the method and limitations because generated answers can vary by time, context, location and platform.
Is special AI markup required?
Google states that no special schema or AI text file is required for AI Overviews or AI Mode. OpenAI’s current Search eligibility instructions focus on allowing OAI-SearchBot and its published IP ranges. Structured data and optional files can still support clarity or content discovery, but they do not guarantee inclusion.
